Welcome to the world of our children struck by Subacute Sclerosing Panencephalitis (SSPE). Welcome to our world, the world of all the people that love our children, take care of them, help them day after day. It is not an easy world but it is not a sad and dull world, it is a world of fight, sometimes hostile, but also a world of energy, courage, generosity. In a word, it is a world of love. It is our world.

L’Oiseau bleu is a beautiful tale which Thimoté, my son struck by the disease, has always been fond of.This is why we called our organization L’Oiseau Bleu (the Blue Bird), as our objective is to allow our children, our “birds” to fly off some day.These children have been suddenly wounded by irreversible brain injuries: they can no longer walk and speak, they are living in their small universe where they at every moment need their family’s and relatives’ love.
Everyday, families and children have to struggle in order to stabilize this virus.
